Pre-K 4 Program

Sunbrook Academy's Private  Pre-K 4 Program is considered one of the most important offered at our school. This program will weave together the myriad of skills taught to the students over the last several years as we ready them for either private or public kindergarten. It is the final step in Sunbrook's challenge to ensure that all graduates are "school ready" and we take on this challenge with pride and seriousness.

Sunbrook Academy's Pre-K 4 Program is a progressive approach to learning.  Our   interactive, thematic and conceptual based curriculum, "FOUNDATIONS™" further integrates the "Alpha Time" phonics series, a time tested program used in private and public elementary schools nationwide. By combining these two curricula, we have created a unique balance in the language-reading learning process. The program encourages the development of readiness skills through storytelling, real language experiences, literature-based activities, math manipulatives, science and discovery experiments, free-form art and other hands-on individual and group activities. Community awareness is fostered through social studies about self, family and community helpers. The children will discover the world around them on field trips to the post office, library, grocery store, etc.

                                               Our state of the art computer labs will play an important role in the program curriculum, along with our weekly foreign language instruction.  Elective enrichment opportunites, including ballet, tap dance and gymnastics will be offered to    Pre-K 4 students who seek additional challenges in their schedules. Our Certified Program Coordinator, along with our expertly trained and qualified teachers, plan lessons to incorporate the whole child - academically, developmentally, mentally, socially and emotionally.
